Terms of service

These terms apply to consumer purchases from blackstunnersltd.shop, operated by BLACKSTUNNERS LTD, and use of the website. Read them with the product description, Shipping Policy and Return and Refund Policy. Save a copy for your records.

Seller and market

Customer-support hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM UK time (Europe/London, GMT/BST), excluding applicable bank holidays. You can email anytime; enquiries are handled during support hours.

Our direct website sells medieval-style armour, helmets, shields and related costume pieces to UK customers, in GBP. Product materials, dimensions, fittings, finish and intended use depend on the individual listing.

Product information and selection

Review photographs, measurements and the selected options before ordering. Check how measurements relate to your body, clothing and any other equipment. A general size description does not replace the listed measurements. Ask us about unclear dimensions or included accessories before buying.

Handmade variation does not excuse a material mismatch with the description or an undisclosed defect. Descriptions such as medieval, fantasy, costume or re-enactment do not by themselves establish protective-equipment certification or suitability for a particular contact activity. Check the specific item's stated purpose and the event organiser's requirements. Your right to goods fit for an expressly agreed purpose remains protected.

If an individual product offers custom measurements or personalisation, check the specification carefully. The cancellation exception applies only where the goods genuinely meet the legal test, as explained in our return policy; it is not a blanket exception for handmade goods.

Ordering and acceptance

Select your goods and options, review the basket and correct errors before submitting an order with an obligation to pay. Supply a complete delivery address and a contact email you can access. Contact us promptly if you discover an error after submission.

Your order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we send confirmation expressly accepting the order. An automated acknowledgement of receipt or a temporary payment authorisation alone is not acceptance. If we cannot supply an item, we will explain the situation and refund money due for an unfulfilled cancelled order. We will not substitute a materially different item or increase an agreed price without your agreement.

Prices and payment

Prices are in GBP (£) and consumer prices include applicable taxes. UK shipping is free. The final total must be available before you commit to pay. Choose an available checkout payment method and follow any provider authentication steps. See our Payment Policy for payment enquiries and refunds.

A promotion or sale does not reduce statutory rights. Optional paid extras require agreement. If there is an apparent price or description error, we will explain it and discuss a lawful resolution; these terms do not give us a general right to disregard an accepted contract.

Delivery and responsibility

Orders are dispatched from the UK. Handling takes an estimated 1–2 business days, followed by 2–3 business days in carrier transit, giving an estimated 3–5 business days in total. Handling is already included. Delivery arrangements are explained in our shipping policy. Tell us before ordering if a particular date is essential so we can establish whether it can be agreed.

Where we arrange the carrier, risk normally remains with us until you or your nominated recipient takes physical possession. If delivery is late, missing or damaged, contact us and we will investigate. Your legal remedies for non-delivery remain available, including cancellation where applicable. Unless otherwise agreed, the law ordinarily requires delivery without undue delay and within 30 days.

Cancellation, returns and exchanges

Eligible online orders carry statutory cancellation rights, normally 14 calendar days after receipt to notify us and another 14 calendar days to send goods back. Our additional offer lets you notify a change-of-mind return within 30 calendar days after delivery and send it within 14 calendar days after notification, subject to the conditions in the return policy.

You pay change-of-mind return postage. We cover reasonable costs for faulty or incorrect goods where required by law. No restocking fee applies. Exchanges depend on availability and agreement about any price difference. Statutory refund deadlines take priority over the voluntary refund period of 14 calendar days after receipt. See the full return policy for triggers, personalisation and fault remedies.

Quality and liability

Goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for an agreed purpose. The remedy for a fault depends on the circumstances and may include rejection, repair, replacement or a price reduction. Statutory rights are not limited to our voluntary return window or made conditional on original packaging.

We do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence. These terms do not remove mandatory consumer protections. Both parties should take reasonable steps to avoid unnecessary loss when a problem arises.

Website use, content and privacy

Do not submit fraudulent orders, introduce malicious software or interfere with the website. Protect any account credentials and tell us about suspected misuse. Website text and images may belong to us or other rights holders; a purchase does not grant unrelated commercial reproduction rights. You may retain information for your purchase and personal records.

Our Privacy Policy explains personal-information handling. Buying or accepting these terms does not automatically consent to optional marketing. External platforms, including Etsy, have their own transaction terms and privacy notices.

Complaints and applicable law

Email our support address with the order reference, problem and desired resolution. We will review it and explain our response. You may still seek independent advice, use applicable payment-provider dispute procedures or exercise legal remedies. Where required, we will provide relevant alternative dispute-resolution information if a complaint remains unresolved; no membership of an ADR scheme is claimed here.

These terms use the law of England and Wales, without removing mandatory protections or court-access rights that apply where you live in the UK. Changes apply prospectively and do not retrospectively rewrite an existing purchase. An unenforceable provision does not prevent the remaining lawful terms from operating.
